Now I remember: They already did basically announce this last year. They said they were ultimately going to combine JWdotORG, JW Broadcasting and Watchtower Online Library. (And I checked: JW channel is still active on smart TV apps, it's only the website that's down.) When you think about it this makes sense, as content was being separated on 3 sites, and you'd have to search all 3. This made even less sense when the lines got blurred, such as videos that weren't on JW Broadcasting, or articles that weren't on Online Library.

JW.Org data
by snare&racket into think they have hung the blue and white sign on every building they own in the world and that this was a publicity campaign with the presumed backing of the god of the universe....... it's not going well.. despite the 8.5 million followers, who through design have to visit the site......it isn't even in the top ten..... top fifty..... top one hundred ......top two hundred visited sites globally.. users on average click through 7 pages per visit and don't stay long, averaging about a minute a page.. as for the data on its search over time 'jw.org' is now googled globally at a rate less than 25% of its peak and is usually associated for a search for the daily text.. .
between this and the carts, the only message getting through to real people is 'child abuse' and that woman from king of queens taking an interest!.
i sincerely think we are seeing evidence of what has been anecdotal decline...... waited long enough for it!.

Don't they understand: It's mostly JWs themselves using the site! (Just like the "Public" talks.)

Where are the funds going to come from? Warwick Expansion
by HiddenPimo inso with the news that they are remodeling patterson and expanding warwick, where are the funds going to come from?.
could this be a ruse like the need for thousands of kingdom halls proclaimed a few years back only to be replaced with the we realized the halls were not at capacity and the great sell-off began?.
maybe the hope is going to be that the sheep will give give give and then all of the sudden, after prayerful consideration the gb have determined that the current resources are sufficient to create the needed media and content.. my bet is that in 10 years it will all be consolidated to warwick and walkill and patterson will be sold to who i have no idea, but they own a ton of property in upstate ny..

You're right, that zero makes all the difference 🤪 As for interest I was being conservative so it couldn't be said I'm exaggerating. But that's probably true, and makes me wonder if WT actually needs contributions to run the org on interest only, seeing as so many expenses are cared for on a local level.

If we assume that WT has a billion in investable assets, (they have much more in total assets), and we assume a realistic average return of 5% (they DO invest) that means they get at least $5 million in earned interest every year, on TOP of the millions in contributions. It's hard to bleed a corporation dry when they're at that level. And tax free!

1975 and 1981?
by Steel inis it true that in 1975 the watchtower falsely predicted the end of the world and a great number of the membership quit and just a few years later they turned disassociation into disfellowshipping?

No need to leave, who cares about that one down voter? It's probably just a JW who is waking up and lurking, but still in that angry stage of denial.

An Uber driver or an uber JW?
Either way, it's a fine way to get kicked out.

Our Spiritual Heritage of Failed Expectations
by neat blue dog inlast sunday's watchtower tells the story of a man who:.
was baptized in 1908 at the age of 20. he was very confident that he would soon receive his reward.
in fact, when he proposed marriage in 1911, he told his prospective bride, pearl: “you know what is going to happen in 1914. if we are going to get married, we better do it soon!” did this christian couple give up the race for life when they did not receive their heavenly reward in 1914?

Yep, sure enough. They were already invested. The article continues, saying they:
remained active and faithful until they finished their earthly course many decades later.

Did this Christian couple give up the race for life when they did not receive their heavenly reward in 1914? No . . . No doubt you long to see Jehovah . . . fulfill all his promises. Be assured that these things will happen in Jehovah’s due time. Until then, may we keep busy -

With all the cutbacks, WHY would they then blow money on a physical Bible, and only part of it that's going to be updated eventually anyway?? Seems pretty irresponsible.
